Shortly after the National Stock Exchange announced on Wednesday that it would advance trade timings to 9 am, the Bombay Stock Exchange followed suit. From this Friday, both BSE and NSE would open at 9 am for trading in equity and equity derivative segments. The market closings would remain the same at 3.30 pm. Earlier this week, the BSE had announced that it would advance trade timings by 10 minutes and open at 9.45 am. But after the NSE decided to bring forward the trade timings to 9 am, the BSE decided open earlier at 9 am. In October market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) approved extension of the trading timings by up to two-and-a half hours from 9 am to 5 pm. |
